Key features of our newest store includes:

• Terrific selection of organic, natural and specialty foods
• Collaboration with local farms to bring customers the best quality and freshest produce
• Products cost 25 – 30 percent less than traditional supermarkets. No gimmicks, no sales, and no club cards. Just everyday low prices
• Hot soup bar, fresh salad bar and antipasto bar

Staying Cool with Specialty Sodas

Posted in Blog, In the News, News, Products, Specialty Soda

Sodas 3

Looking for ways to beat the summer heat? Barons Market has you covered with more than 65 specialty sodas in stock. Specialty sodas are craft concoctions made with very high-quality ingredients or old-fashioned sodas reminiscent of the fountains during the “soda jerk” era.

Try incorporating our refreshing specialty sodas into fun warm-weather drinks this season. For the kids, our old fashioned root beer makes incredible ice cream floats and you can turn any flavor of soda into one of these fizzy popsicles.

Traditional cocktails get an exciting twist when you add untraditional flavors. Mix the best Mule you’ve ever had by combining real Ginger Beer or Maple Bacon soda and your bourbon of choice. For a refreshing backyard barbeque beverage or something to sip on during a warm evening, combine Huckleberry flavored soda and vodka.

Our most popular specialty sodas vary between old and new flavors. Classics such as Bubble Up, Coca Cola and Crush in a glass bottle evoke a sense of nostalgia that is hard to pass. On the other hand, unique craft sodas like Leninade, Main Root Ginger Brew and Saranac Shirley Temple provide a bubbly break from standard choices.

While generic soda brands might seem like the safe bet, they don’t provide the high quality and unique flavor profiles consistent with specialty sodas. You won’t see flavors like Bitter Lemon, Huckleberry, Maple Bacon, Vanilla Cream and Real Ginger Root Beer lining the aisles at most grocery stores, but then again, Barons isn’t like most grocery stores.

Posted in Blog, Community, In the News, Murrieta, News, Uncategorized

Like us, you are probably very anxious about the opening of our 6th Barons Market, located on California Oaks Road in Murrieta. We’ve begun construction and are slated to open at the end of the summer. We’ll be holding a local job fair about 6-8 weeks prior to opening and more information on this will be available on our website. Also, just to clear up any rumors,we will not be closing our Wildomar store! We’ve had many customers ask us to open a store in Murrieta and when this location became available, we simply could not pass up the opportunity.

In the meantime, we wanted to share with you a few store designs. We can’t wait until the store comes to life!

Shaking things up with Vegan Smart Demos – April 17th

Posted in Alpine, Blog, Events, In the News, Locations, News, Point Loma, Rancho Bernardo, Temecula, Uncategorized, Wildomar

Vegan Smart Picture

Protein generally comes in perishable form (eggs, meat, beans and cheese) so finding convenient and portable sources can be tricky. Two popular options for health-conscious people on the go are whey and plant-based proteins.

Walk this Whey…
Whey is a byproduct of cheese which is made with milk. Once cheese has been created, the milk used creates a liquid. That liquid is further processed and that’s how you get whey. Since whey is a dairy byproduct, it is a complete protein and low in lactose content. Even though it’s low in lactose content, what little lactose it has is just enough to keep you feeling full, which can help with appetite management and ultimately, weight loss.

Unless you have that ‘Vegan Feelin’
Plant based proteins are also great, but a single serving of it is not complete. The way to ensure you’re meeting your daily protein goals is to combine plant-based proteins. That handful of walnuts may not fit the bill, but add it to, say, a quinoa and black bean salad and you’re getting there.

If you need to get your plant-based protein on the go, we recommend Vegan Smart. This brand of protein combines pea, hemp, chia and potato protein sources into a complete mix. It’s healthy and comes in delicious flavors like vanilla, chocolate and chai – all vegan and naturally flavored and sweetened. Stop by and have a taste of Naturade’s Vegan Smart All-In-One nutritional shake in Vanilla, Chocolate, and Chai on April 17 at your local Barons and let us know what you think!
